This week's bulletin covers:

  • Profound raises $180m for AI search visibility
  • Synapse Analytics closes Series A as it pioneers automates credit, fraud, and compliance decisions
  • Raindrop raises $35m as it advances AI agent performance monitoring
  • Kapture CX closes pre-Series B round with $10m for custom AI workflows

Profound raises $180m for AI search visibility

New York-based start-up Profound raised $180 million in its second funding round of the year. Profound's Series D was co-led by Sequoia and Kleiner Perkins and supported by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Khosla Ventures and South Park Commons.

It comes seven months after the start-up raised $96 million in its Series C, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and on that occasion supported by Sequoia Capital, Kleiner Perkins and South Park Commons with Saga VC and Evantic also among the backers.

At only two years old, Profound is riding the agentic commerce and AEO/GEO wave, building marketing software to support visibility in AI search. The capabilities build on its genesis as an analytics platform, by allowing companies to research and create marketing strategies through better understanding of how consumers use AI to discover their brand.

Its customer base now tops 1,000 enterprise clients including Comcast, The Estée Lauder Companies and Walmart.

Following its Series D, Profound is valued at $1.8 billion.

To find out more about the companies driving agentic commerce advances for major brands, CX Network has this round-up

Abu Dhabi's Synapse Analytics closes $13m Series A

Synapse Analytics raised $13 million in its Series A, taking the total raised to date to $17 million. The Abu Dhabi-based start-up automates credit, fraud and compliance decisions for regulated financial institutions, fintechs and telcos. The USP is that it keeps sensitive data in the client's own infrastructure, which could be on-premise, in private or sovereign clouds or air-gapped environments. Synapse says this gives its client organizations "faster, more secure decision-making infrastructure".

The customer base already spans the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, and the next step in its development will see expansion into intelligent agents that work alongside institutional teams to refine credit policies and monitor portfolios in real time.

The Series A round was led by Partech, with Algebra Ventures and Silicon Badia also investing.

Raindrop raises $35m as it advances AI agent performance monitoring

Raindrop raised $35 million in its recent Series A led by CRV with previous investors Lightspeed Venture Partners, which backed Profound, and Y Combinator also investing along with lead researchers from OpenAI, Anthropic and Thinking Machines.

Raindrop monitors production AI agents for silent failures including costly hallucinations and tool misuse. It's a similar sell to Temporal Technologies, which is also backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners and has a relationship with OpenAI. Llast month Temporal Technologies confirmed it was negotiating a new round of financing that would take its valuation to $12 billion.

Founded three years ago in San Francisco, Raindrop has so far raised a total of $50 million and alongside the funding news announced Simulations, currently in research preview.

Traditional evals depend on pre-defined test cases and primarily measure failures a team has anticipated. Simulations replay real production traffic and existing test cases against a proposed change to an agent harness, then apply Raindrop's anomaly detection to the results.

Teams can measure performance against their own test cases while also detecting unexpected behavior changes before they reach production. In other words, AI engineers can now see "what their change will change."

"Agents now run for hours, call thousands of tools, and handle real money, real health data, and real customers," said CEO Zubin Koticha. "When an agent fails, it does the wrong thing convincingly at scale until someone happens to notice. Raindrop catches those failures in production, and with Simulations, before a change ever ships. This funding lets us bring the testing process frontier labs use on their own models to every team building agents."

Kapture CX closes pre-Series B round with $10m to take custom AI workflows global

Kapture CX closed its pre-Series B round at $10 million as it eyes a global expansion.

The round was led by Bajaj Finserv Ventures, with continued participation from existing investors Cactus Venture Partners and India Alternatives. Kapture CX is building an enterprise-grade Agentic Operating System that enables organizations to automate complex workflows while maintaining governance, security, and human oversight.

It said that in addition to supporting its expansion into international markets, the funds will strengthen research and development, accelerate product innovation and support the company's next phase of growth as enterprises increasingly adopt agentic AI at scale.

Kapture's Agentic Operating System brings together AI agents, operational intelligence, workflow orchestration, and human oversight into a unified platform that enables enterprises to automate high-value workflows across customer support, collections, claims, sales, and other business-critical functions. Built with industry-specific intelligence, the platform helps organizations deploy AI securely while delivering measurable operational and financial outcomes.
