John Toomey is the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Asia Pacific excluding China (APEC) for Marriott International. In this role, John leads the region’s Consumer Strategy comprising of functions such as Brand Management, Marketing, Sales, Distribution, Revenue Management, Loyalty, Customer Experience, Digital and Communications; for a portfolio of more than 530 operating hotels and resorts in 22 countries and territories in APEC, across 23 leading brands including The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, JW Marriott, W Hotels, EDITION, Sheraton, Westin, Moxy etc. John has a strong track record for driving performance and collaboration that yields long- term outcomes. Under his leadership, Marriott entered a partnership with digital giant, Rakuten, tapping on their 110-million-member base to expand the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty platform. He continues to explore partnerships with digital eco-systems as one of the key growth engines for the loyalty program in the region.
