Kathleen Roberts is an experienced Environmental Health and Safety leader with over 12 years of expertise in implementing transformative health and safety programs. Ms. Roberts excels at navigating complex corporate cultures to build consensus and minimize executive risk. Currently, she serves as the Director of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health in Stanford, CA. In her current role, Ms. Roberts is responsible for all aspects of EH&S management for a 361-bed hospital and over 20 ambulatory locations spanning over eight counties.

In addition, Kathleen was a lecturer for the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at San Jose State University, where she taught an upper-division hazardous waste management course. Prior to her current position, Ms. Roberts served as the EH&S Program Manager at Stanford Medicine Health Care and as the Safety Officer/Risk Manager for the Alameda County Water District, where she advised management and staff regarding safety protocols and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies. While working at the City of Sacramento she helped lead and standardize the Threat Assessment Team in addition to her EH&S duties.

Throughout her career, Ms. Roberts has worked in various roles related to Environmental Health and Safety. She has managed all federal, state, and local regulatory programs (including EPA, OSHA, CUPA, and BAAQMD, etc.), communicated strategies to leadership, developed and improved KPI reports for executive leadership, and led waste reduction strategies resulting in significant savings to non-labor spends. Kathleen is passionate about employee safety and works diligently to reduce the risk of injury in the workplace.
