Christine Doven Castillo

Christine is currently a Director of Advocacy for USAA Life Insurance Company. Member Advocacy at USAA includes teams responsible for handling executive correspondence and complaints by line of business. Christine holds an MBA, with a specialization in data and analytics, from the University of the Incarnate Word. Christine also holds a FINRA series 24, 7, and 66 licenses, as well as a Group 1 – Life and Health License. Christine’s first book “Happiness Made Easy” is also scheduled for release on Amazon in early September 2022.

Christine served for a short time in the United States Air Force after graduating from high school. Upon leaving the Air Force, Christine began a career in retail working as a store manager for KB Toys and Frank’s Nursery and Crafts, before transitioning to Bed Bath & Beyond as an Operations manager and becoming a District Operations Trainer. Desiring a career change, Christine began working for American Express where she obtained her FINRA series 7 license and assisted members with financial plans in a commission-based environment. Looking for stability and the desire to work for a noble mission, Christine started at USAA in 2005, starting as a phone representative in the Investment Management Company. Christine then transitioned into Business Support and projects to support IT development efforts. After completing several efforts, Christine transitioned into a change management role providing her the opportunity to plan and simplify communications to front line teams. Christine then transitioned back into a people leader role, leading a team in Investment Operations before moving to lead the Advocacy team.

Christine is married to her husband, Chris, a director at Victory Capital and her stepson, Chris, is a successful team member at Cushman Wakefield.
