10:30 am - 12:00 pm Moonshots: how to deliver game changing projects in the public sector through effective communication and engagement

This workshop will use real world case studies from the U.S. and Australia to understand how effective engagement can make or break innovative and audacious IT initiatives. Case studies will include flipping the script on speed cameras, inviting citizen participation in deadly wildfire preparation and evacuation, and tracking and sharing student data to improve learning outcomes (The Legacy of inBloom). Participants will have an opportunity to work through their own real world or hypothetical initiatives and get  feedback on what's needed to build stakeholder support and ensure successful project outcomes.
