Research Vice President, Global Supply Chain Strategies Gartner

Tom Enright is Vice President in Gartner Supply Chain Research for the retail industry. Tom specialises in supply chain strategies and operations across all retail product sectors. His focus areas include distributed order management, in-store logistics and last mile fulfillment.

Tom describes his role as helping retailers to become the company their customers want them to be.

He’s on a mission to help retailers deliver the famed seamless shopping experience that all in retail talk about, and offers creative, innovative and pragmatic advice to retailers to assist them to achieve this. He looks at retail from the outside in, just like consumers do and covers all product sectors, globally.

Tom’s specialisms are in Order Fulfilment, Product Returns Strategies, Last Mile, Demand Forecasting, Direct to Consumer strategies and Tearing down Organisational Silos for once and for all.

Prior to joining Gartner, Tom had spent his career within the retail sector, for companies such as Marks & Spencer, The Arcadia Group, Aspreay & Garradr, Liberty of London and Mothercare. He was the Principal IT Engagement Manager with the apparel, footwear and homeware business units, leading the improvement of their business processes and related development of IT solutions. He led software selection programs for allocation, replenishment, merchandise and assortment planning and PLM, working directly with business and IT colleagues to determine future operating models and select the appropriate vendor applications.
