In this week’s podcast interview, Peter Guber discusses the difference of a passenger customer vs. a participant customer

EPISODE OVERVIEW:

This week, Peter Guber joins host Seth Adler for the latest interview as part of the CX Network Podcast Theatre. Guber shares his experience of being a film producer with credits of Rainman, Batman, Five Easy Pieces, Easy Rider and Midnight Express, among many others, as well as being a professional sports team owner of the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Dodgers and more.

He notes the difference of a passenger customer vs. a participant customer; for a passenger customer- you have knowledge of the rules and context, for a participant customer the content is different because that customer makes a difference in the outcome.

Guber says that no matter what your function in an organisation, you’re building a relationship with the the customer, not a transaction. As far as serendipity goes, any company that was there on the Wednesday that he interviewed could have had him and it just so happened to be Columbia Pictures.
