Podcasts are more popular than ever before, but what are the best series to get stuck into for CX and leadership inspiration?

Podcasts are a convenient way of consuming information on-the-go. Whether you’re stuck in traffic on your way to and from work, ploughing through endless exercises in the gym, or spending hours every day on public transport, as long as you have a mobile device and a set of headphones at hand there is an entire world of audio content at the tip of your fingers (or should that be ‘ears’?).

However, with podcasts being more popular than ever before (112 million individuals listened to a podcast in America last year, up 11 per cent from 2016) and new ones sprouting into the ether every single day, it can be hard to find the true gems amongst the (literal) noise.

To make things easier we’ve done the hard work for you, listening to many hours of customer experience and leadership interviews and weekly shows to uncover the best ones in the industry today!

1. CX Network Podcast Series

Is it cheating to include our own podcasts in this list? We’re setting the rules and we certainly don’t think so! Our host Seth Adler is a highly experienced podcaster who encourages his guests to open up about all things CX and leadership in his frank and entertaining in-depth interviews.

2. The Chief Customer Officer Human Duct Tape Show

We’re a long-time admirer of industry influencer Jeanne Bliss and in this series she sits down with CX executives from Airbnb, Walgreens, Audi, and more to discuss how the CCO acts as the human duct tape of the organisation; uniting companies to earn the right to customer-driven growth.

3. Crack the Customer Code

Adam Toporek and Jeannie Walters team up in this audio series to learn from Fortune 500 executives, authors, retail magnates, product poobahs and entrepreneurs making things happen to deliver an exceptional customer experience to create loyal, raving fans (and higher profits!).
 
4. Forrester: What It Means

The age of the customer isn’t a tagline — it’s a fundamental shift in the market that is forcing companies and executives to change course. In Forrester’s What It Means podcast, they examine those changes, what they mean, and what executives can do about them.

5. This Is CX: A Customer Experience Podcast

Hosts Mike Manfredo and Paul Hagen want to help people understand what customer experience is and how it can be done in a way that creates real value. They share personal experiences and best practices, in the hope of making the world a little more customer-centric.

6. The Modern Customer Podcast

Blake Morgan is an author and adjunct faculty at the Rutgers executive education MBA program. In addition to her podcast she is the host of a weekly customer experience video series and she contributes to Forbes, the Harvard Business Review and Hemispheres Magazine.

7. Pat Perdue’s Customer Experience Podcast

Delivering great customer experience – every time – is really hard to do, but there are some companies who are really good at this. This show looks at what they’re doing differently to make their customers love them and introduces us to the people whose job it is to make great a CX happen.

8. Customer Experience Optimisation

This online talk show delves into the extraordinary ways to build customer-centric culture and drive real business results. Hear from the likes of San Jose Sharks, Cisco, HP and Suntrust what drives their customer experience strategies.

9. Experience This!
